WTF! I can't get an alignment???

Ok, I recently had my rack and pinion replaced and was going to get an alignment today. 3 out the 4 shops in town that I called said they would not do it because my Max is lowered. I don't know what is up with that. Then the last shop I talked to, said they could do it. So, I brought it down there, an hour and a half later they called and said they couldn't do it because it is too low? Someone tell me why I can't get an alignment because my max is lowered. It's not like it is slammed to the ground, I only have a 2" drop. Anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem. But I found a shop that would do it (Midas). The only thing is that they made me drive it on the ramp (i weighed the lightest out of anyone that was there) and they cracked my neons trying to drive it off...If you don't have camber correction kits, they will tell you they need to grind some off of the strut so they can get the camber right.. This was recently...about 8 months ago i took my car to a Nissan dealer and they did it no questions asked.

BTW: I have Sprints (2in. drop)

i just popped my Stillen lip off and handed the keys to my guy... took him about 2hours cause he had to adjust the eibach camber bolts and such to get my car back into spec.
Im on Sprints and without the lip he drove it right up without hitting the ramps.

If there is a sears by your place take it there. They have the kind of ramps that sit very low. They did that to my bu I have to replace my rack bushing so the alignment didn't work.

BTW: how much did you pay to get your rack and pinion replaced? What was the problem?

Hey good idea, I will check Sears out. Well I brought my car in for a power steering leak and it was coming from the rack and pinion somewhere. So, for the rack and pinion, bushings and CV boots and installation of course, I paid $750. Oh and I got the 75,000 mile maint done too.
