OBX Type H vs OBX greddy sp type?

aznsap made a thread about this and want to get your opinions.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=2446049561

that is the link to the OBX greddy sp-type catback for about 200ish shipped.

i am looking into the OBX Type H for about 300 shipped.

What is the difference in sound, quality, fitment (and how to fix it) overall performance, and experience.

I'm looking to get one very very soon...need opinions quick. Thanx

First of all LINK DOESN'T WORK second of all, no such thing as OBX GReddy. OBX blows...

^ He said greddy type.. as in muffler style... and btw, there are quite a few people with that cat-back and they are, for the most part, very happy with it. You really can't beat it for the price, even if it does have some minor issues

yea, greddy and OBX are two companies. there is one OBX with a muffler that LOOKS like the greddy, but they dont make it anymore. use a link that works next time atleast make it hard for ivelweyz to insult you

OBX GREDDY? wtf lmao

anyway here's some additional information:

1. greddy sp has 2.5" inlet
2. OBX type-H has 2.25"inlet
3. old version OBX catback has 4" tip, the new OBX type-H has 4.5" tip (looks similar to greddy)
4. greddy sp catback is deeper and louder than OBX type-H catback

I think that the OBX is very good quality. While the OBX is all SS, the greddy SP is just partly.

And for 300 shipped, that's a steal. The only thing you need with the OBX is some hose clamps to fix the alignment of the tip.

OBX does have a lot of issues as well though, some people can never get proper fitment, or align the tip/properly hang the b pipe. I like them too though

first of all, sorry about the link. Second of all, i said OBX GREDDY TYPE.

Catback. For those who had helpful advice, thank you. I'm planning to go with some type of OBX but not sure which one. Where can i get the hangers to re-align the mufflers from?

The way you said it, it sounded like the OBX greddy sp-type was a catback that a EBAY seller was claiming to be selling. That it was actually called that, not like people don't try selling misleading stuff like that. Sorry for the misunderstanding, Now you can get your panties out of a bunch, I'm done...

thats if you're a 97-99. i have a 95 and purchased this same exhaust on eBay which was incorrectly advertised for 95+..... so we'll see what else i have to fix to make it fit (fingers crossed).

i have the greddy looking one. Honestly it sounds VERY similar to the apexi one that indigomax has, it sounds similar to greddy (i heard maximariders in person and he has similar mods to me). The OBX in my opinion is just another version of the greddy sp1 (just MUCH cheaper with issues) but the price definitely outweighs the issue especially since its all stainless steel.

^^^ the last pic is how mine sat before using clamps on the muffler holders.

I had 2 catback setups before this (custom setup, 2k1 muffler setup) and this one sounds far better than them.

i have basically the same setup as meccanoble. We both have the "fake Greddy" one....and no I will not get rid of it. Mine sounds a lot like Meccanoble's, but I can say it is much quieter if you have a stock y-pipe.

So, if I get the type H and pair it with a budget y and my jwt pop charger, should my car sound pretty good?

I have the type H, and I love it. It is reallllly deep and has a nice clean tone. It isn't loud enough for me at this point, though, I'm waiting until emissions go by to get a y pipe, then it should be perfect. I dont like that this exhaust is canister instead of oval shaped, though, and the tip needs to be about .5-1.0'' smaller (they type H has a 4.5'' tip while the Greddy wannabe has a 4.0'' tip) However for the 230 shipped i paid, I have 0 complaints, i get complements all the time how mean my car sounds.

i posted pics of how it fits on my car from a side view. On a 95-96, its gonna stick out like another inch. Not super ugly but not the cleanest look. This can be fixed by cutting part of the piping off or something. Or just leave it, doesnt look that bad.
