Rear Frozen Calipers, Help Please!

I woke up this AM to go to work and my rear calipers were frozen. My car was basically being dragged down the street so I had to turn around and call a cab. This ever happened to anyone? And how can I fix it? Please help!

Thanks,

Jason

The problem is probably one of two:
- kinked e-brake cable
-damaged brake caliper

My rear-left one seized up on me 2 months ago. I discovered the problem when smoke was pouring out from my car. When I pulled the car over, the rotor was lit up like a stove element on HIGH.

Help....rear rotor glowing red hot

(%&#!@....my brake's still grabbing!

I tried to fix it with a couple buddies but no luck. I ended up getting a re-built one as I figured out it wasn't an e-brake cable. There is one attached to each rear caliper. The end of the cable is connected to the spring-loaded pivot arm.

Your calipers were frozen? Or was your handbrake frozen?

My rear driver side caliper was digging badly into my rotor. I too thought it was frozen, but after an enormous amount of muscle, I was able to turn the caliper and replace the pads (had to replace the rotor too).
