Gauge needles

So I just finished installing my guages (reverse indiglo), and the tachometer needle is getting "stuck" on the guage face itself. I believe that there is some kind of spring that pushes the needle up so it doesn't run into the face, but I don't know how to get to it to replace it. If someone has experience with this, let me know how to remove the needle to get to that spring so I can replace it!

did you put new guages over old ones?? if so you need to pull apart again and use some double stick scotch tape and make sure new guages are real flat, otherwise they will move and make your needles stick.

No, I didn't. But I used the double sided tape for the tach, and the needle is still catching. Does anybody know how to take the needles off completely without messing up the tach position?

Its a real pain in the A$$, i would take it apart and retape and check the needle at that point, while you have it apart. I have them on my car and i have not ran into any problems. you have to make sure the needles dont stick before you put it all back together. If i were you i wouldnt take the needle out, you are only asking for trouble.

Looks like I'm going to be taking my gauges out this weekend again.

I had the same problem and this is what I did. The genius who made the gauges did not put the holes for screws so you have to estimate where the holes would be on the glow gauges, use a sharp object to make a tiny hole. Now use the original factory screws and screw in place the glow gauges. You should not have any problems after that.

Yeah, but the problem is with the needle height. I'm going to try to use some double sided tape.

But there's still my original question: how do I completely remove the stock gauges?
