A few questions

I am leaving DSMs behind and I am going to start building my max as a road/strip warrior. I am planning to start stripping next weekend. My first task will be the transmission (I gotta find out why I am burning up clutches in less than 1000 miles). Is there anyone who builds strengthened Maxima Trannies? I cant even find remanufactured manual trannies.

I also plan to pull the engine and start stripping. I want to bore it a little bit, I was wondering if anyone has bored a Maxima before? How big can I go? Sleeves? I plan to O-ring it because next summer I want to start boosting.

Has anyone done any serious porting or head work on a maxima. I was wondering if anyone has tried and seen any gains. I am sure I will have tons of questions I have never built a Maxima before or any nissan for that matter. Thanks for the help.

Why would you build a max instead of DSM, and how do you manage to burn up your clutch every 1000 miles? Do you let them wear in or you just beat on them. You will never get the max go as fast as you can get your dsm go before upgrading the turbo, so chill out and don't expect crazy ETs. Maxima is a good sleeper not a drag racer.

Burning up clutches in a thousand miles is most likely operator error or over exageration. I've never heard of such and i know people who dog the hell out of their clutches including myself. I have over 40K on my ACT and it grabs just as good as it did the first day i put it in.

Also you could have a sticking clutch (fork or pedal), air in the system. But if you can't figure that out I don't know how you managed to keep your DSM. DSM makes you ASE certified mechanic
