Question: Heating and A/C is.........

not working properly. When i turn my heat on and turn the **** to level 2 it use to work fine...now a few days later it stopped working so i turned the **** to level 3 and it worked fine for a few days. This past monday when i turned the heat on again and turned the **** to 1,2, and 3 no heat was coming out at all so i turned the **** to the last level 4 and it's working fine but on FULL blast which is burning my gas. What is going on? I'm afraid that soon i will not have heat coming out at all. Have any of you guys had this problem and if so can you tell me what the problem might be. How much would it cost to fix this. I was thinking maybe the fans or something stopped working....Any help and repair info/ideas would be great. My car is a 95 Max with 96,000 miles on it.

You need to change the blower resistor. It's located under the dash in the passenger side mounted in the HVAC piping. Get it from your Nissan dealer 1st so you can recognize it when you look for it.

Heater at full blast does not burn any more gas. That heat is free. It is absorbed and vehiculed by the engine coolant, commonly known as "prestone".
