got intake and now check engine light on

i have a 96 black max, it manual and i just put in a injen cold air and my check engine light came on......tell me what to check or what might be wrong. and iif it permenant if i can pass emissions in GA, gwinnette

maybe u started the car with a sensor out and the CEL came on ..;the code wont clear till u reset the ECU

ya i gonna reconnect everything tomorrow though but if my engine light is on u know if ill pass emmissions?...

how u reset ecu?
i started it with only one hose out and it wasnt important

do the diagnostic ... check the faq thread for the HOW TO... read the code and find out what code means then fix ur problem, or ask us how to fix it or what it mean...
