Change KS last night...weird problem with ECU
After changing my KS, I attempted to reset the ECU by going through the sequence, I started turning clockwise but never felt a "stop" in the screw. I turned it back and forth(with not too much force) but it never stopped. So I try to start up the car anyways and it starts fine. The CEL was off for a few seconds but then started flashing slowly, not throwing any specific codes. After flashing for about 15secs, it stayed on. I drive off and the car felt fine.
You should know that I also have a faulty Speed sensor(busted odometer) so CEL could also be triggered by this. Last week when I pulled the codes I got speed and knock sensor so I changed the knock sensor last night. I did not have a problem with the ECU last week, the screw stopped and I was able to reset it properly.
I still haven't tried it today but I drove in to work fine this morning. I'd like to go pull the codes again to see if KS is gone, but my damn screw isn't stopping. Any else ever experience this???
Thanks

I also don't have the "stop" in the screw. You just have to mess around until you reset the screw to where it was before. If you CEL was still on and/or blinking, I don't think you reset the screw back to the right place.
Thanks.
I'll go try and pull some codes. I've heard that it usually takes a few days for the ECU to be optimal again after you change the KS. Should the KS code still be gone even though it hasn't been 2 days?
