for some reason my car wont start when i put my cold air on so i took it off and it worked fine

 

There are only 2 causes to this. 1, the maf connector is loose/disconnected. 2, the thick hose that is connected to the midpipe has a leak or is not connected. Had same problem, the hose was loose and the car would die after a few seconds.
