02 and Knock Sensor
02 and Knock Sensor
My check engine light came on like 2 weeks ago and I finally got it checked out yesterday. I took it to the dealer and he called me back and told me that the error codes were for an o2 sensor and my knock sensor ..$600 job!!
I was wondering if someone could tell me how those problems could be affecting my car. Also, if someone could refer me to an o2 replacement guide on the net it'd be great. Thanks for your time.

Next time read the FAQs, you would of found everything you were looking for.
KS: http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/507
O2: http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/508 (This is a write up for a front O2, you didn't specify which one you need to change but this will put you on the right track)
You can also buy a knock sensor on eBay for 90$ (160 at the stealership) and takes 30mins to change with the right tool and small hands. 02 is also a sinch to change. Do it yourslef and save 400$

The ECU codes would tell you which O2 sensor is bad. Fix the O2 sensor first. Then check ECU code (even if CEL ligth is off) to see if the KS code is still there. $600 is insane. Do it yourself and save $$$. Or get the sensor and pay a shop to put it in.

Has anyone ordered from http://www2.nisspartswholesale.com/ before?
I got my o2 sensors from www.oxygensensors.com
Very fast shipping, and great price. I had a code for one sensor, but at the price I found here, I decided to replace both front sensors. I installed them and my car is doing much better on gas.

Thanks, I just bought the o2 (Bosh O.E.) now the real question is do I buy the Knock Sensor with or without a harness. I can find the actual knock for about $120, but with the harness its about $160 (www.courtesy-nissan.com), but then again is it worth going the safer route by getting the harness, any ideas anyone?
As UncleMax98 said, replace the O2 sensor first - the KS code is often a ghost code that will go away when you change the O2 sensor.
You do not need the harness unless your harness is bad - in which case you may not need the KS.
