drifting in a maxima

well it snowed here in TN last night. And this morning I over slept for work I ran out the door and drove to work. All the roads were fine just damp and they were all salted.

Well a truck in front of me decided he wasnt going to drive normal so I went down a side road (used quite a lot), to try and make it to highway faster. As soon as I got on it I knew it was a mistake. For some reason the salt truck decided this road didn't need it, when this road (even though a side road), is used quite heavily.

I slowed way down to be safe and there is a slight left hander coming up. So I backed off even more and hit the brakes gently. I'm now approaching the turn at about 20 MPH or less. I go into the turn and here comes the backend slowly coming around. I think oh ****. I countersteer and the car does a slight drift for maybe about 5 seconds and then I could tell it was just heading for the sidewalk/park.

The next dumb move I made was hit the brakes. The backend came around the other way then. I turned the wheel the other direction. And I thought I was gonna hit a sign. I was holding the brakes I didn't nail them. And as soon as I let off the brakes the car straightened right back out and I was on my way.

Since I didn't wreck I thought it was a blast and wanted to do it again Definetly gets the blood pumping.

But that isn't it the road then goes down hill and to the left a little bit. I made it through there fine, but then there are 2 HUGE hills, and a woman decided to park her Benz on my side of the road with her hazzards on. I was more nervous about not making it up the hills. But the tires didn't slip at all. Then when I approached the Benz I slowly got over and went around without a problem. But then I have to come to a 4-way stop and that went to hell. The car just slid and slid and I just yanked the wheel to the right and made it on to the other road safely.

Thank god nobody is out at 7:30 in the morning! I was also lucky the corner I went around was fairly wide. If it was like any of the other roads around here, the Maxima would probably be seeing a body shop Monday.

mad drift

Yeah i heard that......the dorms that i live in in pittsburgh is a big loop with littler loops inside of it...last night i was out till about 5:30 and decided to come home around 6...the whole loop is 2 lanes and i thought i would try out my drifting skillz on snow...i hit em all the time on pavement...man was snow different...but it was much more fun...I was able to get my car sidewayz at about 30 feet before a turn doing about 30-40 mph....then leavin the corner perfectly....i recorded it but the snow was so thick that you cannot see anything on the screen..KINDA UPSET....but hey there will be another snow storm until then....pavement drifts with donuts is what ill be doing...until i can compete.....

I always used to do huge spinouts with my buick at the DMV parking lot, But with my max i'm afraid to pull the e-brake because of all the people that got theirs stuck. (I have an Auto so my e-brake could have NEVER been used before!)

Anyone know if I can prep it so it doesn't break? (I'm still on topic right? )
