I'm in the market for some new rims. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of their rides with 19's on. I'm debating between 18's and 19's. Any oppinions?

I'll have pics up after this weekend. Honestly, my car looks badass. I'm finally getting the look I want with the new wheels. Car is dropped ~3.5" on the Ground control, and this matches the wheels perfectly. With the old 17"s, something just didn't look right. But you will lose performance, no way around it. My car is noticably slower and it handles a little worse due to the wheel weight. I got the 19"s because I'm really, really into doing shows and the like. But if you're building a more performance oriented car, maybe get 18"s. Wheel design plays a big part in how wheels look on a car also. If the wheels have a lip like Monsoons or something similar, then the wheels look smaller than they are. If the spokes go all the way out to the edge of the rim, then the wheels look bigger.

i have 18's on my car and feel that they drive perfect. I can't tell a difference between the factory and the 18's, maybe just a little slower. I always wanted 19's but haven't found the right ones. I think that 19's would look better because 18's look good, but 19's would be eatin. Go for 19's

The reason why I wanted the 19's are cuz I really like the way touring cars in the BTCC look. However I wanna be able to perform as well. I guess there's always a trade off for everything. *sigh*

I like the way the ADR Racing Tourismos looked. A friend of mine had em on his accord before they got jacked. However I really like the VOLK Racing te-37 6 spoke rims in white. I'm thinkin bout white rims cause my car is blue... and I like the contrast. I'm sure I'd turn some heads.

Which reminds me... you think it would be a good idea to cut the wheel wells to increase clearance for turning. Cause the more I think about it I don't want to put on 19's and have the car fight me into every turn. More thoughts anyone?

Well, cutting the wheel wells really won't make a difference. The 19"s I have on are actually smaller in diameter than the 17"s I had. 25.2" diameter as opposed to 25.3". But the 19"s will kind of fight you in the turns, it's just the weight. You turn the wheel and the car wants to keep going straight. My car is slammed, there's 1 finger of gap between the tire and fender and I still don't rub.

If i did eventually go with the 18's what sizes in your oppinion what would be better in both looks and function.

18x8 38mm offset or 18x8.5 with a 40mm offset with 235/40/18 sized rubber.

Hopefully I don't seem to naive on this one.

Thanks

Hmmm...18's, 19's, 18's, 19's...Big decision. I'll make it easy for you. 20's!!!!! Go to a custom car shop, for 30-35 bucks they'll cut your wheel wells out. You'll be very unhappy after a month or so if you go with 19's. You'll wish you would have gone with 20's. If you're gonna go, go all the way!

If your car is a daily driver, don't get anything larger than 18's; even with 18's the margin of error is substantially less when you're parallel parking and driving close to curbs etc. The bigger you go the more likely you will be to scuffing a wheel or worse yet bending one with a good hit.

I deliberated between 17's and 18's and settled on 18's and am happy with them. Mine look quite large bc of the lip concept mentioned earlier. IMO 19's or 20's are not for this car unless you're into shows and the like, it's just not a large enough car.

And forget larger wheels if you ever let anyone else drive your car. I'm scared to let my wife drive my car now, she's not very aware of her surroundings when driving. I suggested she drive it recently - she was about to, then I reminded her to be careful with curbs and she respectfully declined the offer.
