Transmission help!

My car went into the shop because the differential bearings gave out, and this caused tranny fluid to leak all over the clutch, they are telling me the oil destroyed the clutch, and ill have to get a new one. I just put in this exedy stage 1 clutch 3 months ago, are they just saying that, or can oil really damage my brand new clutch~! Im about to get rid of my car, its been nothin but a hassle and money pit.
