no, i got me a idea. first want to try something different and if it does not work out, get me red/clears. plus altezas are cheap on ebay and some guy gave me a offer of $300 shipped for red/clears. so are you guys possitive that they will come apart just like the tailights on the 97-99 maximas?
Oh yea, they would come apart...look at some directions from the VQPower how to's and you should be set .....if your gunna do what I think your trying to do, let me know how it comes out. (I dont want to say anything until you tell the public first)
You paint them on the outside: http://www.vqpower.com/v2/modules.ph...howpage&pid=14
If you want to take them apart, you can use the oven at 150-200 degrees for like 5-10 minutes (keep a close eye on it), but BE CAREFUL since the altezza tails will break easily. Some people have opened them successfully so take your time

and they are glued with that sticky black stuff right and do you guys think that all of the altezas are like that(the ones on ebay)? Cause 5th gen tailights you can't take apart cause it is a one-peice taillight. And how about the tails on our cars right now, do they come apart also?

wrong wrong wrong, that was wrong
I bought a heat gun to peal the door pilars and ended up using it for all kinds of crap. I seperated my taillights w/ them too. You just gotta be patient and keep the gun moving.

I think you can get those for like $55 bux now on ebay and paint should only run like $5

maybe if you're getting the flat regular spray paint. but if you want it to match your car, paintscratch's cans cost a bit more than that...200 degrees for about 10-15 minutes...the inner lights are easy to do, the outside ones are much more difficult and fragile in my experience.

Oh yea, I guess your right. The O'reilys near me sells those little scratch repair bottles of factory paint for like $2. I dont think they have spray cans though....

I took apart our factory taillights w/ a heatgun. I would think altezzas would be the same but dont know. I think its the same principal as the oven though. All your doing is heating up the glue and seperating the casing
ur not gonna put the stock outer housign on the alteazza's ? i thought about that with gen 2. i hope im wong. it may look good but may be off. actually, i think i know wht ur gonnma do.. it takes no time to get the tails open trust me i did it alot. check my homepage for instructions. very simple takes 20 min per side. and get to posting pics.. iwanna see wht ur up to..
