Plug diagnosis

Decided to change the plugs on my 95 SE w/ 117k. Just got the car (my 2nd max) a few months ago; had no idea how old the plugs were. Decided to put in NGK Coppers...

Pulled the old plugs (plats), and they were in surprisingly good shape. Ready to be replaced, but no major fouling.

However, when I pulled the #1 plug, there was oil around the metal gasket just above the threads. NO oil on the electrode, porcelin, or top where the coil seats. Just around the top of the threads & washer/gasket.

When replacing the plug for that cylinder, I noticed that it seemed to thread/screw in a little further than usual. Then, when inserting the coil, it barely seemed to seat; like the plug was too far down.

Has the plug been overtightened before? Anything I can do to help? Again, the plug was not fouled, but oil is getting up to the threads. Any ideas?

Thanks!
