Will Budget y pipe pass emissions?
if your main converter is working properly you should pass emissions "sniff test" with out a problem. The pre converters removed to install the y-pipe are for cold start emissions....just make sure your car is warmed up properly and don't shut it off in line....the hotter the exhaust the better...note if they do a visual inspection and know what they are looking for you could fail a visual inspection..later
yea im in pittsburgh and they are making it even harder here with some new 9000 dollar machine. I guess ill just put the stock y back in when that time comes. I hate PA's laws, btw zippo Penns. are the only people who refer to their state with initials..... laf. :X
Make sure your car is warmed up for a while, as mentioned before dont shut the car off in line and you should be fine. This is of course assuming you have a cat. and its in working condition.

Just to give you an idea I have a Stillen Y with my exhaust setup and my car passed NJ inspection with flying colors. This setup has been on the car for about 30,000 miles. The cat is also the original stocker and it has over 105K on it.
if he puts it on for you then we shouldnt have a problem if he knows that it's on the car while you doing the test....As long as it passes. He wouldn't put it on for you if he had a problem with it.
190 at www.budgetexhaust.com jus orderd one the other day
All you guys with emissions...I went to get mine done today and noticed that they dont even hook up a sniffer anymore...all the do with OBD-II is put the scan tool on. Can they determine anything else besides ECU codes (if any)?
1996+ cars with OBDII don't do the exhaust test, most states I believe. That's why I was wondering why this guy even made the thread, They just use the OBD tool to check for emission codes and things of that nature.
