As a new member I just wanted to introduce myself and my new ride. I just bought a 1998 Maxima SE 5spd in Super Black with Bose CD/cass at a dealer for $10,500. The car has 54k miles and the previous owner did the following mods:

Stillen Intake - K&N filter
Warpspeed Y-Pipe & hiflo CAT
Apexi WS CATback exhaust
B&G Coils 1.6" lowering
KYB GR2 struts
Freedom Designs FSTB

I talked to the previous owner for some background on the car. He used Moblie 1 synthetic oil since he had it (which I didn't think you could run synth until around 50-60k miles) and kept the car in excellent conditon.

Just curious if this was a good deal overall? I'm kinda new to the import tuner scene, due to my "American Muscle" upbringing. After all the reading I've been doing the last few days, it seems like the 98 5spd with miles that low is a good find.

Welcome! I got my 98 Maxima blk on blk fully loaded 5spd for $9500 from some old lady. Mine had a lot more miles at 81k. Thats a nice find, sounds like it was taken care of and you already have some nice mods.

Way to go man. Welcome to the org. That is a very nice find. What would make it even nicer is if you told us what color interior it has. Either way that is awesome. Let the modding begin, eerrr I guess I should say, Let the modding continue.

Sounds like a reasonable deal. I just bought my '99 Maxima GXE 5-speed with 96K (that's right) and no options besides the rear spoiler two weeks ago for $7000 (before taxes and licensing fees). If I could afford a lower mileage car, like the one you found, I'd buy it. If your car runs well I'd be happy with that purchase.
