Heat doesn't seem to work...

It's starting to be so cold up here and I'm not sure but the heater doesn't seem to work as well as last winter...my friends keep complaining that's it's cold in the car and I do think also that's it's a bit cold...but whenever I'm stopped, the heat is ok, but when I'm on the road, even with the thing shut, the heat isn't hot enough. Anybody knows what's wrong? Oh yeah and when the car is on the road, the engine temperature goes down so much, it wasn't like that last year... anyone?

all posts need to have at least 10 characters to be valid. A short answer as I concurr is invalid. SOme members type dummy characters to make it 10.

Replace your thermostat. PArt costs 15-20$, labor is 30 min to one hour. easy to do yourself.

Easiest things first. Low coolant can also cause that.
And im not talking about the overflow tank. Check your radiator level-- not hot though.
