How can I get just a 1" drop?

I want to lower my max but the roads around DC are such crap that I just want a 1" drop...what's the cheapest way to do this? I haven't seen any springs with those specs. Thanks!

no idea, but 1.4 (H&R) wouldn't be that much of a difference in ride comfort, would it? and in plus, if you're planning to drop it just 1", then i would recommend not to drop it at all. Maximas are oddly high stock. My 1.5 drop doesn't even look dropped. That's y i'm switching to Tein S's.

cutting coils would cause the springs to be shorter and the drop to increase. And NEVER cut coils on ur springs.

H&R springs and Tokico Illuminas ride awsome. They can be adjusted to give a soft, caddy like ride up to a nice firm sports car ride. Your setting would depend on your driving style, roads and wheel tire combo. They soak up NYC roads nicely. It's the best combination of strut/lowering spring I've ever ridden on.

H&R springs and KYB GR2's give a nice ride as well and can handle bad roads while keeping your ride fairly comfortable.

The drop from H&R's as some have said is about 1.5 inches and makes the Maxima look finished, not slammed. They compliment the car's looks.

Totally sweet rosewood, 97GLES.

Where would be the best place to pick up all of this stuff? (cheapest for me if you can get good springs or struts used.)

How do you think those new Tokico Springs will ride seeing as they are the same ride height as the H&R's? Also, I dont know if you know the specs on the H&R's but these are the specs for the Tokico Springs, (Spring Rates are Front: 111 – 225 lb/in working rate and Rear: 148 – 295 lb/in) *from Custommaxima.com*.

Do you have any recent pics of the new setup that you are riding on, sounds pretty sweet. One more question would be what settings are you currently running on for the illuminas?

If you drop the car, make sure you cut the bump stops. Makes a big difference in the ride quality.

bump stop is located around the strut rod, its like a its like some foam crap but u wouldn't have to cut it unless ur going to drop it more than 2 inches.

I am local to DC and have a set of springs that will be for sale in February. They are the H&Rs that everyone mentioned. I have an ad for them in the 4th gen for sale forum.

In all honesty, I love the ride with the H&R. No more harsh than the SE springs, really, and much improved body roll and appearance.
