#194 for the dash

i want blue bulbs that will illuminate the whole dash. not like the damn led bulbs i put in today that only illuminate the spot where they are. i bought blue colored bulbs off ebay, but they are white. now i got these leds, and they are very blue, but only in a small spot. i want the whole dash blue!!! anyone got a link or a place where my dash dreams can come true?

You need to get a led with a very wide angle. Like over 45 degrees.

Kevlo911 01-09-2004 03:33 PM

have you attempted to use wide angle LEDS?

just get blue blubs.... not hyper white. hyperwhite have a blue coating on them, but when they are powered, they are white with a tinge of blue. you can also try the wind angle leds tha kevlo was talking about, but i am not sure how good they would look in the dash.

Very BRIGHT over stock!!

JeremyMarkham 01-09-2004 09:29 PM

Whoa...yours have more of a purple hint than mine...mine are very light...

myke321 01-09-2004 09:30 PM

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe it will burn off with time.

JeremyMarkham 01-09-2004 09:39 PM

I thought about putting the bulb condoms that were on the OEM ones on the Polargs but it is such a pain in the @ss to take the whole thing apart again...

myke321 01-09-2004 09:41 PM

Humm, i wound how that would look? Duller?

JeremyMarkham 01-09-2004 10:17 PM

I dunno, maybe...Now I am tempted to spend an hour or so tomorrow trying it out, waiting until night time, not liking it, and then re-doing it Sunday morning...haha.

Mahstylez 01-09-2004 11:41 PM

Do they have polargs in blue?

yea...little too purple.

If you want to run 194s, my kragen (dont know about all) sells blue 194s. they wouldnt be as bright as hyperwhites, but would look a lot more blue.

JeremyMarkham 01-10-2004 06:15 PM

Any recommendations for good hyper whites that wont turn the gauges light purple? I want the best possible bright white color!

JeremyMarkham 01-10-2004 06:21 PM

I bought these PIAA HID 194 ones and they are blue/purple. No white at all. Anyone want them? 5 bucks!

myke321 01-10-2004 06:22 PM

My gauges already bunt off the purple color, now thier mainly bright white.

Hey, leave my button alone. :) you can ask anyone on this board that has done this mod, and they all have the same problem with the "temp" button. and what does my buttons have to do with the subject? just needed something to pick on me for because i didn't like you gauges?

I have blue bulbs from autozone, they are very dark blue when you first buy them. Now they are starting to fade and are giving me a blueish white.

ManualMaxima 01-11-2004 10:59 AM

blue bulbs fade and make your **** look super green. it sucks. i just bought indiglo cause i am tired of tricking with this crap.

SXN 01-11-2004 01:52 PM

ive seen some blue 194s run for a long time.....no fade

Ya i know about those bulbs, they are a lighter blue and turn green. These are dark blue coated and will not fade green.

SXN 01-11-2004 06:20 PM

kragen sells incredibly dark blue coated ones (and red, green, etc) i believe that is what you are refering too kevlo

big_al 01-15-2004 04:43 PM

Yeah, I put some blue 194 bulbs from pepboys, they're like light blue/green compared to my blue window switches.

What is Kragen? is it a store or what, anyone got a link.

I need darker blue lights ASAP!
