the carbon fiber ones will go better and not stand out as flashy...

go tinted red/clears! will look best on your dark car imo.

I think gunmetal or carbon fiber would look good on a black car, but just make sure you get the Generation II altezza's, not the original ones, they look a lot better. I prefer red/clears though.

I agree with FLAVOR247. I only have em because I can't stand amber and soon they will be skylinified or be replaced with red/clears.

this thread is a bad idea. people either looove altezzas, or hate them. I have a 97, so red clears were greatly prefered over altezzas. since you, MaxGR97, have a 97, you could get gen 1 or gen 2 altezzas, or red/clears (or home make your own)

get the carbon fiber to match the black. then buy a carbon fiber hood, trunk lid, dashkit, steering wheel, exhaust, etc. that way everything will be matching.

probably some stock rims to replace the steelies/caps. its not much of a mod, but would make a world of difference. once the weather cleans up and i can really wash and wax the car, the pin stripe is coming off. new speakers are going in as well (i have no bose, and felt it was time for an upgrade) then the interior needs some looks upgrades. and yourself?

Nothing for awhile...spent a lot on the drop. Next would be either a carbon fiber hood or some 17-18 inch wheels/tires. The suspension can handle a lot better now, but the tires can't handle the suspension anymore

you should AE your headlights...it would bring everything together up front since you have the hyperblack corners..

don't get altezza's i hear that they bring the value of the car down. Go for the smoked red/clears they looks so awesome on a black max.

Well if you can see in the 2nd pic, the edges around the black part are like white...The sealant seeped out for one, and one is cracked...they 2nd set looks a lot cleaner and nicer... they are just a lil better done you like man?

Altezza's are too ricey, the 2nd Gen Altezza's are alright, but not that great. I'd go with the red and clear lights, moslty everyone will mostly agree....

mostly.

I used to drive a Civic, and hung out on a honda-acura forum for a looooong time - you should see what happens to poor little n00bs that post altezza questions - they all get sent home crying. the threads prove to be really funny reading material! anyway, my opinion is red/clear. that's what i'm getting next friday on payday! woo woo

Cool, so no one likes chrome altezzas, i dont either, and ppl that actually picked chrome or c/f said c/f, and then 80% said theyre gay go w/ red/clear. I think im gonna go with gunmetal gen 2 altezzas. thanks for your inputs.

Why don't you save the money you would spend on those taillights and put it twords a real mod. Do you really want to be driving around and have people look at your car and say "Oh, my god that fool put altezzas on his maxima!!!"

Do you honestly think they look good??? When your driving around and you see a civic with altezzas do you really think "man I got to get me some of those". Come one now really.

Darn all you people with 97/98's who can get red/clears!! Us 96'ers are stuck with reding out! I'v the things about doing the red/clear's, so why can we (96'ers) do the same procedure, but take out whole amber/red part, then cut it in half, and stick it back on with the clear?

The reason i want altezzas is b/c i dont really like the red/clear lights because they just dont appeal to me. And no i dont see a civc and say damn i want those, i just want some style in my car. if you look at the gen 2 gunmetal altezzas they dont look ricey at all. I am not a ricer, i just like the looks of these altezzas

please don't turn this thread into another can 95/96's do red/clears with their stock lights. it can't be done because it's all one piece.

i don't know how people can say gen 2's are so much better. i saw them in person for the first time a few months back and i think they're nasty. they look like bug eyes and just don't really go with the car at all. they look cool at night, i just couldn't get over how they look in the daytime. maybe it was just because they were regular chrome gen 2's but they made me embarassed that i ever had gen 1's on my car a year ago when i first had my max.

i think tinted red/clears are the best option for a dark car but that's just what i think.

the orange (yellow) is not a film, it's a piece of plastic inside the housing.
