Reinstalled my CAI, noticing a stiff throttle pedal

I reinstalled my CAI (pretty much a PR CAI setup) because I did a lot of researching and CAIs appear to be the intake choice by some of the bigger names in the business (Dinan specifically). Anyways, after reinstalling my CAI, I noticed that the throttle feels much stiffer compared to the way the pedal feels with a hybrid intake. Anyone else notice this? It's pretty noticeable in the lower rpms and not so much above 4500rpms. It has to have something to do with the way the air is coming in.

hmm thats weird, i'm sure you checked your install twice over to make sure it wasn't something you did. Maybe the path of intake flow being longer generates more pressure against the t/b?

Are you ever going to settle on one intake?

Never

Like ejj said, I'm constantly switching intakes. I've had the CAI installed before and noticed the same feel. I also noticed it with the stock intake. The throttle just feels firmer and doesn't feel as loose as when I'm running the hybrid. I'm guessing it has something to do with the intake resonance in the lower rpms. The hybrid intakes generate a weird resonance which is actually worse for around the town performance because intake resonance is poor which causes that initial lack of lowend people complain about.

It's from a company called BOMZ, its almost an exact duplicate of the Place Racing CAI which costs a pretty penny, Picked up the BOMZ on Ebay for $38

My low, (as well as mid to high) end was increased after cleaning TB and installing hybrid. The increase in the lower RPM range was probably due to the cleaned TB and may have accounted for all the relatively small gains from changing to a hybrid. Either way you will gain very little from any intake. This summer i'm going to try out the filter with no midpipe.
