extra connector on stock am/fm/cassette radio??

I pulled out my stock am/fm/cassette radio on a 96 max and found an unused connector on the back. Its a round connector with 8 pins.

Does anyone what this is for?

I'm pretty sure it's for the OEM CD changer (if equipped).

That's what I thought, but then I realized that there are no buttons on the front to control the CD changer. What would be the point of connecting a CD changer when you can't control it. Hmmm.

Anyone have an answer?

You should post this in the audio/electronics section, and you'll prob. get more responses.

It is for an AUX input or CD Changer. By "stock" I take it you mean "not Bose"? I haven't seen the control panel for that, but is there a CD button?

All the control for the CD player/changer are on the CD unit itself. So, yes you have full control of the CD when connected to that round 8 pin connector on your stock radio/casette.
