warpspeed muffler....

so i just got off the phone with dallas from warpspeed of which i have been conversing with over the past 2 weeks since they have been custom designing a muffler from scratch for our cars...I finally got to hear it today....he told me decibal readings in real time on the phone and let me hear it rev a bit...now that's customer service! in either case, it sounds awesome and is extremely quiet according to them, the decibal readings and from what I heard over the phone! sounds aggresive as all hell and they are giving three different tip choices...plus the muffler will only cost $80-100 for previous customers....56db from driver side tire idiling....maximum in first gear in cabin -- i think he said 70 something db....and from the rear of the car about a foot away from the muffler was 78db at maximum i believe...they put a resonator on the muffler itself so it sounds deeper with raspiness or drone...

Sounds good, but that's all you'll be getting because mufflers are only for that "sound" very minimal if any performance difference.

right....but what i am saying is for the sound, this is a good deal...cause every part they have put out in the past have been top notch in quality and performance...therefore I bet this would sound great and is probably the least ricey exhaust according to warpspeed themselves...they have every heard as long as they have been around for the maxima...i heard it and i have heard all of the other exhausts for maximas out there...they kinda sound ricey and drone in comparison...plus are way too loud!!! cop attention>>>

Hm, shame I already did my exhaust, otherwise I would have went with that. My magnaflow is a tiny bit loud for my taste, looks soo beautiful though.

With Y-pipe, loud/annoying/raspy, w/o Y, barely even notice.

As Michael posted earlier we have been very pleased with this new muffler, at idle you barely hear it. When you punch it from a dead stop for a couple of seconds the decibel level went up to 84 db when I have the meter sitting on the seat next to me with the front windows down. Other than that it sounds like the stock 2003's we rented, real quiet.

We test mufflers with the same setup we usually run which is an equal length tube Y pipe, metallic substrate cat, 2-1/2" B pipe with 14-18" resonator.

We take readings with several different diameter tips and tip lengths and also take readings with a stock cat, unequal length tube Y pipe and may do one without the resonator if we have the time.

Right now we are also testing a new high temp powder coat for the Y pipes, B pipes and mufflers as well as several we had ceramic coated to see how it holds up. It looks like we may be adding a powdercoating addition if our offer gets accepted on a new building we just found. All that and we are doing a custom exhaust for our 2004 Nissan Armada V8 which I have to say is already pretty quick for a 5200# rig, 0-6 in less than 7 seconds.

regards
Dallas
