Stillen vs JWT

I was recently reading the new Stillen magazine and came a cross the cams for the 4th generation Maxima, but there was no write up on them. I also know that JWT makes them, I would like to get some but want to know what the differance is, if any. Can anyone tell me?

I think they could very well be the same cams. I'd also like to see some dynos of a car before and after cams when cams were the only modification added. This will probably be the next and final performance mod I add to the car, after the lightweight flywheel I'm getting this week.

I also want to know, does the car always make that weird looping sound at idle? Or is that something you can change so it sounds like a normal idle?

the Stillen ones go for $1150. I think Catman sells the JWT for $1049.

Not to be negative but do you guys really think that these cams are worth it? I mean for all of us that are not real big into how are car works. Installation will be a biytch ($wise).

Don't get me wrong, if I had won the lottery I would have these on too. But by the time that you will have money for the cams and install you'll probably have enough money for a supercharger. So where is the advantage?

Thanks man, I haven't gotten a chance to take it to the track yet, but after I get the new flywheel and everything else is set up I'm definitely gonna make it out to one here in Tucson. To be honest though I don't mod my car to pull off a good 1/4 mile time or get a certain amount of HP to the wheels, I'm more concerned with making my car fun to drive and knowing it can pull hard when I want it to....cams would def. help with that I think.

If you're in a situation like me where you've done all of the good N/A mods and are still looking for something that will give you a nice gain in power and won't have any serious effect on your car's reliability, then cams are probably a good upgrade to start looking at. I figure if you can get a good deal on the installation, you can probably get everything set up with cams for about $1600-$1700 or so. A supercharger after the install would cost like $4000+ and you have to deal with a lot more potential problems.

I think it just comes down to an issue of how far you want to push it. I plan on keeping this car for a couple more years (since I'm a college student and don't want to have to deal with new car payments), and I think I'd be pretty happy with my car having an extra 20 horses or so...plus since I already have the JWT ecu, so I could probably get them to install some new valve springs and up my rev limiter even more.
