I replaced my radiator about 6 months ago. It was leaking on the top. I tried repairing it using some high-temp plastic compound (found at any autozone, checkers etc for radiators), but unfortunately...I plugged one hole, then another hole, then another. I paid $150 to a local shop for the radiator alone, and it has a lifetime warranty (they also had it in stock).
Check for any cracks or any hairline fractures on your radiator. Look closely. Mine also had a crack near the stem of the radiator (where you screw your radiator cap in). If there is a crack, then you could try compounding it. Just follow the directions exactly on the package (clean, sand, apply compound, and dry). Tho, you may just end up replacing it anyway. Up to you. If there is no crack, and you see coolant leaking from the cap, then replace it. Shouldn't be more than $10 at any auto place.
The ticking noise should be normal. That noise should be just your fuel injectors. They tick.

My radiator has a crack in it too. I just went on ebay and bought that hi flow radiator for 226. I know it was kinda pricey, but it has the lifetime warranty. My uncle in Houston is gonna come out here and help me replace it, so I figured I saved any labor to put it on. Just get ole uncle a sixpack and he will be cool.
how long and hard does it take to do the jobs?

[QUOTE=95BNM]where 's the best place to buy radiator online or should i go local?
Well that is going to be a decision you will have to make. Spend a few minutes and make a few calls then decided vs. online retailers. I chose mine online because it was hiflow and would not need to be replaced when I get my max the way I want it. I have called diff places here in San Antonio and got quotes as low as 140
