All red tails (New Idea?)

I haven't redded out my tails yet.

I have an Idea. There has been talk about reding out all of the tails. Most people think this is dumb because of obvious reasons that you wouldn't have reverse lights (I agree). BUT What if you did the tape method then cut out a shape in the reverse lights ie: Nissan hamburger, the words MAXIMA or anything like that. This way you would still have light, and may not look as bad.

Basically what I am asking is 2 things
If I try this will the tape come off easilly (If I screw up or it looks bad)?
Should I try it or am I just retarded for asking?

Just thought I'd throw this out and see what you all say-
If i am borred I will make a photochop.

having a shape of a hamburger might look silly, and there's been a chop of a thin bar of clear so the white can come through. Go for it, see what comes up.

Do you think it would look good with other things in there?
NISMO MAXIMA ect?
any suggestions to try to see how it looks?

here are 2 of them
(I Obviously will not do with diff words on each side- this is to see how it will look)

heres an idea which i am going to do in the future, red out the entire tail, get a clear led spoiler, or wire lights on the side of my license plate as a reverse light? what do you think?

i really think that you have to have a reverse light in the cluster of taillights. otherwise im pretty sure its illegal anywhere else. could be wrong

yeah, i mentioned the part about the clear spoiler, and someone else had already thought mentioned it earlier. i think it's a good idea, but some arguements that people had was that it was too high. i was wondering if you did that, then you could also have red led's aswell so it would still work as a brake. but i guess when you reveresed and then put on the brake, it would get screwed up, oh well, something to think about i guess

There was a whole long thread about this a few months ago, someone posted up a pick, and I thought it look great! Except for the issue of reverse lights.http://www.nissanx.net/gall/alb/albu...6_6_full12.jpg

You should try just leaving a thin 1"- line of white in the center of the reverse light, that would look better then the words. maybe.

I agree it would be too high. If I was behind somebody and that light came on, I bet I would just think that the light was busted. I also think it's important to have them seperated, as opposed to one solid bar of white light. IMHO...

well for 1 the clear light in the spoiler still has red LED's so you'd have to swap those for clear ones... maybe if you alternated 1 clear - 1 red - 1clear it would be good...
but the all red tails look great i definitely would not cut a shape out in the reverse light cause i think it looks dumb...

Red tails. Use a small fog w/ low watt bulb on bottom lip of bumber. Paint it black.

No some year eclipses have them by the plate, just red them out, and install side markers by the plate to be the reverse lights, dont do those words and stuff.... IMO

maybe if you used just one layer of tape and some hyperwhite bulbs it might shine thru (white). i have no reason to test this though, i have a 98.

there is a guy who has a honda accord 4 door around my area, that has the two outer tails in and shaved the inner tails. totally cuting out the reverse lights. so wht he did is he then took the license plate which is connected to a motor that drops to reveal 4 very bright white reverse lights. 100% leagal and 100% custom. just an idea. works better then the license plate thing and also more legal... hope it helps

that sounds like the VERY illegal (but very useful) mod of a "flip up" license plate. while you're at it, why not have a little jet spray some oil all over the road.. or maybe some tacks! yea!!! tacks!!!!

just messin around.

how often do you drive in reverse where cops are gonna see you? i'd say **** the reverse lights, they're useless.

Not sure this mod is legal...I saw this once and I thought it was to blind the cops that are trying to take your license plate number while you were running of them.

I did this to my 94 Honda Accord. What i did was instead of redding the whole reverse light out, i made thin strip of alternating red and clear. It looks all red from up to 3 feet away but when you put it on reverse, white light comes through the clear area.

if yoy want all red tails but keep the reverse white you paint
the inside red (obiesly)but living a little squeare clear and the housing
(where the bulb goes )black so throw some hyper whites and your done
i mean they are not goin to be completly red you goin to have a little dark squerare there just like the jettas oh it should work 95/99 hope this helps

Sorry I have been gone for the past few days.
I saw the pic above me and thats what Inspired me.
I have no state inspection so its just getting pulled over that Im worried about (There are some @sshole cops around where I live)

I still want it to be legal- Totaly reds aren't an option- neither are motors or extra fogs- I would put that money into the motor before I did that (Or new fogs for the front for that matter)
I agree that the words/logos so far are hideous- but it doesnt have to be words-I am tryin to think of different things to put in there. I will try a few other ones

Any Suggestions???
