Nissan vs. Nissan vs. Nissan

I am very curious, two of my friends have Nissans, one of them has a 2003 Altima 2.5 automatic, the other one hase a 2003 Spec-V automatic, and I have a 1995 Maxima also automatic.
Who would take who?

If not to look at the driver's skills (no need much skill with an automatic haha), or road conditions, tire pressure, none of that, just generaly...

nissan would win.... just jk.
You would whomp on both of them pretty badly!!! I don't even think that a stick Spec-V can catch me, because I killed an automatic so bad it's not even funny.
And a 4 cylinder altima (it's too heavy for a 4 banger)? Don't humiliate your car.

No, the sentra has no chance, if it were the 6spd Spec V, then id say it would be close, but since its the auto, the maxi will win by alot.

I've raced both SE-R and spec-V, spec-v's suck, the SE-R is a really close race. Like Nismo said, it also depends on your launch.

interesting...i never heard of a spec v in auto form. i always thought they are all 6 spd unless it is a regular SE-R which i has a choice of auto or 5 spd.

either way, the maxima should win.

If it's a spec v, it's a 6spd. There is no such thing as a spec v automatic.

If you are talking about stock cars

On highway/high speed:
auto 4th gen maxima > spec V > altima 2.5s
auto 4th gen maxima > auto sentra and auto altima

From a stop (with good drivers):
Auto Maxima > auto sentra and auto altima
Spec V > auto 4th gen > auto altima 2.5

my friend has a 6-spd sentra stock and all i got is a CAI (auto) and i took it off the line. But then again, I don't think he's a good stick driver because the spec-v should've done better than wat he did.

^It's usually a driver's race between 4th gens and the 6spd sentras. I've seen specs run from high 14's to 16's or even 17's stock depending on the driver. You can easily spin straight through 1st and 2nd gear resulting in crappy 60ft. times. Even with a good driver, if the race is long enough (>100) the max should catch up because it has a better top end.

An auto max should beat an auto sentra. The best 2.5 auto sentra's I've seen ran from 15.8-low 16's stock. Even if the sentra driver gets the jump the max will catch and pass it after the 1/4

WTF are you guys all talking about. There is NO Automatic Spec V...the only automatics come with the BASE SE-Rs. Spec Vs ALL come with 6 spd manuals.

Base SE-R
165 hp
175 lb ft tq

Spec V SE-R
175 hp
180 lb ft tq

From what I understand, Spec Vs can get into the 14s VERY easily...

definitely. They can hit high 14's stock with a very good driver. but the launch is tricky so you see lots of mid to high 15s and sometimes 16s or 17s.

With currently available bolt-ons they can run low 14s (14.2 and up) from what I've seen. But they are not very aerodynamic with a lower top speed than the max. If the JWT ECU ever comes out I think you'll be seing high 13 sec N/A specs/sers

The 2.5 autos are the new SER and the new so-called luxury edition with the 165hp engine

I race my buddy's spec v 6spd with cai, all the time, but i'm a 5spd. he can get me pretty good off the light cause of his limited slip, but then I catch him and just walk him real bad. if it's an auto it's just an ser and you will take it, And you will kill the altima like nothing.
