Brake job?

Hi, i am thinking about changing out my brake lines and rotors, what is the difference in cross drilled/slotted and power slotted? Is $200 shipped for the rotors gonna get me crap, if it is CD/S? And how much difference would this make braking? Thanks

X-drilled/slotted are pointless unless you're hardcore track. Get brembo OEM

I have the Stillen cross drilled rotors and Goodridge steel braided lines and the difference is very pleasant. I do some autocross racing, so the braking improvement is very noticeable. However, if you do not do any racing, you don't really need them.

for the 3rd time

if you don't race your car...not talking about daily driving type racing..but track and autocrossing..save your money.

Crossdrilled/slotted will do nothing but eat more pads and not improve your braking (not on a DD)

Yeap, why would you want to upgrade your oem rotors and brake lines? Are they all crapped out? if they are replace with oem parts, if your car is a daily driver. LIke others had replied already, if your into autocrossing or going to make your max a wanabe dragster go for it.

thank you, all i am really looking to do is improve daily breaking, I drive my dads M3 on occasion, now those are sweet brakes. I was just hopping their would be a cheaper alternative to the $2500 big brake sets to get a firmer braking feel.

No, don't replace with OEM parts unless you can get them dirt cheap. Better off replacing them with Brembos for sure because new OEM rotors will cost ~2X as much as the brembos. Go with whatever design you like best if you're not taking it to the track much because CD/S do look a lot better than blank. If you're going to track, i suggest SS lines and either blank or slotted only Brembos. Another thing to think of which a lot of people don't comment much is GET YOUR ROTORS DIPPED to prevent rust. This is a MUST for people with aftermarket wheels showing the rotors. The rust killed the look of my Koseis last summer. Now i went smart and got the works CD and CAD dipped X-drilled rotors all around and Axxis/PBR MM's. Since i don't currently track, SS lines seemed a waste to me, but this summer this may change.
