Removing Clearance Lights....DONE!

Sorry Guys, Am a Noobie here. Just got my Maxima Two Weeks ago and just before i was trying to replace the Clearance Bulb. I read the manual on how to take it apart....

1. Removed 1 Screw on Top
2. Use a Screw Driver to Pop it out

BUT IT WONT POP OUT! The bottom part of the light seem to be stuck.

Thanks Guys.

ya man i had the same problem, you have to jam ur screwdriver right into the thing that pops out, first i took some wd40 and sprayed it on the thing thats supposed to pop out, it takes some time to pop it out but u really have to force it, just stick the screw driver right behind the popout thing and just pull

Yeah its tough. There is kinda like a socket joint (like your shoulder) in there and it is tough to get out. I broke one of mine attempting the switch. If I really feel the urge to get a new one I will from a local junkyard. The screw holds it in there just as well. Go from the side closest to the door.

Before i shove in the screw driver like the manual shown, pull it hard and still didn pop. Didnt want to break something, end up putting a small scratch on the bumper.

what you have to do is wedge a flat head screwdriver in between the ball and joint and twist the screwdriver. that should loosen it. the piece attached to the chassis is plastic so be careful not to break it when you pull on it.

Yes Mr****s95SE is right, I learn a lot today but at a costly mistake. The Left one i did, the Shoulder Broke. The Right one, i did what i did on the left side and i broke a peice of plastic on the side of the light. I was getting so frustrated and finally did it right, stick the flat head in btw the ball and joint and twist.

Thanks guys.

Question: what kind of glue should i get to stick the peice of plastic back?

or just use some silicone gel. The next time that you try to do this use a towel or something to shield the bumper from you hitting it. I HATE TAKING THESE LIGHTS OFF.

sucks that those things broke. i was having a hell of a time getting mine out when i was doing the mod to make them brighter and thought that i was gonna break something for sure... but they poped out as perscribed.
to put the things back together use GOOP glue... best stuff in the world

leave them broken. the screw keeps it in fine and you wont ever have to struggle to get it out again.

DONT TRUST THE SCREW TO HOLD IT! I did, and it cost me. About a week later, driving down the highway, I heard a tapping noise tjen saw somthing fly past my passanger window. Turns out, the corner fell out, and went under my tire, then ripped the cords and the bastard went flying off my car and down the highway. Just super glue the piece back in. I did, and all's good now. GOOD LUCK
