Suspension Experts: Toser Coilover System

I purchased these Coilovers a while back and they have been just sitting around as I have been too busy to install.

I was hoping to do some research but search is still not functional. I was talking with njmaxseltd as well as chris'smax, but was hoping I could pick up some further insight from other members.

I am looking to find out specific parts that SHOULD or NEED to be replaced with THIS coilover system. Also can I still use camber bolts in conjunction with this setup? Any Information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

I would suggest you get a set of stillen camber plates, instead of bolts. That would pretty much complete this suspension set up.

Thanks for the reply, I feel like a complete newbie when it comes to suspension, hence the point of the thread.

What is the difference between the two?

Thanks.

Well from what I understand, camber bolts are know to come loose or break. Also you can add or take more camber with the plates.

if u plan of slamming the car.. less than 1 finger gap.. get the plates.. if you are gonna drop her < 2" the bolts will serve you fine.

plates go on top of the strut assembly. u can change the angle the struts are mounted at thus fixing the camber.. the bolts fixes the camber by changed the angle which the strut bolts on. plates are adjustable so you can always be in spec.. the bolts add some fixed amount of positive camber.. it works fine in most lowering applications.

that setup you have already includes bumpstops, so u dont need those.. u may want buy teh strut bearing for the front if you are cracked.. just buy them.. and return them if you stock ones arnt cracked...about $40 from dealer. there is no aftermarket ones availible. they are the grey plastic circle bearings on top of the strut mount.. mine were cracked.

Hey, I posted those about a month or 2 ago...they seemed like a decent setup..but I was skeptical about buying them, since I never heard of them. Let me know how low it will drop your max, how it rides and post pics once you get them installed.

Bolts are tougher to adjust because you have to remove the wheel, measure, then remount the wheel. Plates just slide and are much easier to adjust - but are more expensive and increase ride harshness. Plates go to about -2.0 camber alone, bolts can go as much as -3.5 camber if desired.

Oh, and although not marketed for the Maxima you can get metal aftermarket strut bearings - they'e called needle bearings or something. I'll have a pic of them in a few weeks

Thanks for all the insight, keep it coming.

Also Max Noob or BEJAY1 would it be benefitial if I purchased the metal aftermarket strut bearings?

Anything else you can think of I NEED or SHOULD get?

Thanks.

Actually, you dont have to remove the wheel to do an alignment, thats why these mechanics have lifts so that they can access all the alignment adjustments from underneath the vehicle.

Secondly, camber plates don't affect ride quality at all, that is a pure myth. and bolts cant do that much adjustment, atleast a single bolt being used that is, and you aren't supposed to use 2 of these bolts on the same strut, as these bolts are usually smaller than oem.
