Cefiro Headlight Conversion Problems

I just purchased a set of Cefiro lights from some guy on ebay. He said in his auction that they would fit on 1995-1999 Nissan Maximas with some modifications. I read the how to's prior to purchasing them so I was aware that the modifications were pretty minimal (just cutting some brackets, no body work). When I received them I thought they looked more like the shape of I30 housings rather than Maxima housings, but, I figured they might be slightly differently shaped because they were from a different car. I began to install them by cutting the brackets that interfered. I got them to sit in all the way but they are totally the wrong shape. There are big gaps in the corners and they are much more boxy shaped causing them to stick out past the hood slightly and not follow the conture of the hood or the factory grill.

I am worried that this guy sent me the wrong product because after comparing the shape of these housings with the stock housings on I30s they look identical.

The guy I bought them from on Ebay says they only make one kind that fits both Maximas and I30s. Which is impossible ,at least if they fit well, because I30s have entirely different fenders, Hoods, Bumpers and Headlight/corner light housings than Maximas.

Does anyone know if they make two types of Cefiro housings (one for the Max and one for the I30) ,because I think this guy just may not want to pay the shipping for the exchange, or is this just how they turn out?

I also took some pictures of how they look, just visit this link:

Thanks:

quoted from turbo95max "needs a lil bit of either body work or work on the edge of the headlight to make it fit closer to OEM. but it still doesnt fit as nice as the OEM headlights"

looks like he sent the right one, you just have to find a way to make them fit.

You didn't get the wrong product.. There is only one type of Cefiro one piece housing and will only fit on I30 without big gaps.. I also encountered the same problem during the installation. My solution was to cut two pieces of black plastic to fill up the big gaps.

They are absolutely correct, You have the correct lights, but that problem has always existed with the Ceifro lights on a maxima. I say...get plastic cut to fit..or get new fenders...that is if they fit. hmmm

yeah correct lights, you can't get it better then that without body work. Might wonna put some rubber tubing in there makes it look better. You can get a body shop to fill up the hole inbetween headlights and fenders, should cost tooo much.

Still looks 10 times better then stock headlights.

Wonna sell your stock headlights I will buy them!!! Please sell them to me!!!

Oh yeah might wonna talk to slimer he made some custom brakets for his grill or something, I wasn't there when he messed with his grill but he said it made it fit better.

Thanks for the quick responces. I was afraid of that might be the case. Its not the body work that scares me. The problem is that I just finished fabricating and painting my own eyelids and grill last summer, but, they wont fit with the shape of these new head lights. I guess that means if I decide to keep them I had better get to work.

By the way does anyone know How well an I30 hood fits on a maxima?

If I do decide to go with the cefiro housings I would definatly be interested in selling the stock headlighs and corners, since there is not an easy way to go back to stock (if I do the body work). Ill let you know In the next day or so.
