Disconected IACV really no difference?!

Now i just unpluged The three connectors, and the only difference i saw was instead of revs going up alittle when wheel is turned and AC goes on .It goes down alittle. I drove for 30 miles no CEL and no driability problems.
The reason i did this is because this is the main problem for me with putting the 2000 manifold on my car. The 2000 simply does not have a spot for this in the IM, its on the TB. On the 4th ngen manifold there is a huge area where this goes but in the 2000 its round on the back with no flat spots .If thats all it made for is to bump idle up for engine load , This means I'm one step closer to throwing that manifold on .If i have to use it i could , but it would be alot of time from me. So if anybody has any other knoledge on this please tell me ,the haynes manuel doesn't say alot.

as far as i know, unfunctional IACV is one of the component that affects gas mileage. perhaps no CEL or drivability is being affected, but give it a tank or two to see how your gas mileage is doing...

i would love to know more about it keep me posted...

The light will come on, just give it some time. That valve does much more then just compensate for the load of your power steering and A/C system.

The big, black hose sucks in air from the intake to keep idle RPMs so the car doesn't turn off. Idle Air Control Valve, didn't know it did anything else.

Ya it also increases rpm to deal with incresed load of AC and or power steering.
But what i dont understand is , if it's suppose to regulate idle then why with mine disconnected why is everything fine. I haven't turned the car on though since i unplugged the connectors and i did it with the car on .
I'll do some more testing tomarrow.

You didn't remove the hose right? Remove the hose and your car will die. The connectors don't regulate idle air flow since the flow is controlled by the black, plastic screw on top of the IACV.

So thats like i thought the most that does is make the car idle. So i will find another way to make it idle.
