installing y pipe ?

i tried to get my stock y pipe off but all the bolts are rusted on there good. I tried spraying liquid wrench and wd 40 but still didn't work. Anyone got any other ideas on how to get these bolts off?

you may have to do wat i did and get a shop to take car of it. I just had a shop install my cat-back cause my bolts were rusted (welded) on very badly. they cut and happered those damn bolts untill they came off. maybe they used weaker bolts on our 98's. You could try to get a breaker bar in there but if yours are anything like mine i just say let a pro take care of it.

1. deeper socket and stronger wrench
2. spray WD40 and wait for a bit
3. pull like a ****
4. if u didn't pull like a ****, get a torque wrench
5. and now pull the torque wrench like a ****
6. if it still doesn't work, save up your lunch money for the next week and bring it to a shop and miss out the fun of modding

No No No!!!!!!!!!!!

Breaker Bar, not torque wrench!!!
Only use a torque wrench to tighten stuff, and remember to set to back to 0 when you are done.

Absolutely critical if your ever working with engines.

I used a propane torch to heat up the rusted bolts. It would of been better to use an acetylene torch but I don't have one. You have to torch them each for like 3~4 minutes to get them hot enough and then they should twist off. I also used a breaker bar to make the job easier.

On your last ditch effort get some of that "as seen on tv" stuff, its called PB you can find it at autozone in a yellow and white can. spray the bolts, and while they are soaking gather your strength... ...Prepare all your 4 letter words... ...then go at it with every thing you got... ...and while you are pulling, pushing, kicking, and turning blue in the face use the 4 letter words... ...well at least thats what I did. If that dosen't work ask your girl if she will pay to have it installed. have fun

i used a torque wrench to take off the 14mm bolt off the brake caliper and broken it. guess how much that cost? $50 at the dealer, cuz it comes with the rubber thingy as well (i broke that too).

i was about to use the torque wrench for those nasty 14mms on the cat. but i was able to take it off without a torque wrench after a good amount of daily work out

btw i only use torque wrench for rims.
