is this possible??

ok i'm tired of sitting @ a light and i can feel the bass from the car next to me. It's time to upgrade the bose. Can i keep what i have and just add an amp and put a sub in the trunk, since i hear that the bose speakers won't sound as good if you change the head unit. Or will i have to change the head unit and speakers? I lookin for some more sound and bass, i'm not looking to be heard 2 blocks away. (youngin who's on a budget, any ideas??)

i hear that you will have to get a completely new system. Bose makes (i think) 3 different bose systems for the maxima. One of the 3 systems you can remove the head unit and still play with the speakers. Other than that the speakers will not work without the head unit and the head unit will not work without the speakers. If I were you just spend some money and get a real system.

yeah you CAN add a sub and amp. im in the process of doing this right now. you will need to buy a kit called the AOEM-NIS2 made by PAC. you can find it on their website. good luck on the project!

I dont know much about car stereo, but I was helping/watching my friend put an amp in his prelude. I liked the sound produced and thought of maybe just getting amp for my car. I talked to this other buy who told me that the stock bose speakers would not "bounce" as hard because they have card-board--which he showed me and i saw. So it would be best to go with a new system--but i plan on just keeping the bose
