Engine light was on for a few days starting last Friday. Happened to need new exhaust from converter down cause of hole in resonator pipe and did that Sat. Light stayed on which i would have expected, now 4 days after repair,it is off. Does this mean problem is really non existent or corrected? Can the shop still test the code if no light on? Do I need to still have this checked ? Does the light go off after a certain amount of time anyways?

Just have no interest in doing something unnecessary. Could use all advice. Thanks so much.

you can test it yourself. read through all the faq's and stickies at the top of the 4th gen forum. if the problem wasn't detected again after a certain amount of starts, the light will sometimes go off. if the car is running fine, i wouldn't worry about it. if it's something that needs to be fixed, it will return. hope that helps and welcome!
