potential problem-- 99 Max +MEVI
potential problem-- 99 Max +MEVI
Anyone have this combination with CA spec emissions? If so, do you have a permanent CEL?
My reasoning is as follows:
removing the US intake manifod and replacing it with the MEVI also removes the swirl control valve common to the CA-emissions Maximas. There are sensors tracking that part of the intake, and I am not sure what inputs they take, but it stands to reason that lacking the swirl control valve (and thus the inputs) would result in a permanent CEL...

A MEVI is not a waste of money at all, but do plan on buying a JWT-ECU in the near future for your low end loss and rev limiter..
for a 99', I wouldnt get a MEVI cause currently there is no ECU upgrade from JWT yet for 97'+

In today's world, with no '99 aftermarket ecu = Waste of money...

Fellas, fellas...
I've been one of the main people knocking on Technosquare's door all the damn time for progress on development... I expect to purchase a mevi, followed shortly thereafter by a 99 ECU.
Holla!!!!!

The gains from MEVI start around 5500 or so, so its more like 1000rpm of gain, and when you are racing you only run it through about the top 2000rpm anyhow, so 1000 of those top 2000 rpm having gains raising up to +30whp is pretty noticeable.
