Best location for Garmin GPS V?
Hi guys,
I am trying to locate the optimal location to install the GPS V.
1) What location works for you? If you have a picture, please post.
2) What's the cleanest way of routing the power line to the unit. Again, picture if available, please.
3) What do you need to modify in order to always have power at the ciragette lighter socket, even when ignition off.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Haven't done this but I was wondering why you want it on all the time. What if you forget to turn it off? Sounds to me like you will have no battery. Open up the trim panel around the shifter and buddy off the cig lighter. This works perfect for anything up to 20AMPS. Run the wire through the dash and drill a whole wherever you want the unit.

Build a bracket to place it on left or right side of the steering wheel, installed between lower and upper dash panel. You could also install it on a cell phone bracket, like the one you can buy to install on the side of the upright section of the center console. Wanna picture?
