Can I use a 97-99 CM Test Pipe on 95-96?

I have a Custom Maxima resonated test pipe for a 97-99, but was wondering if this piece can still be used on my 95.

From my understanding there were only a few changes to the exhaust for the 97-99 years:

- The Rear oxygen sensor moved behind cat to b-pipe
- B-pipe made longer

So then what problems arise from using a 97-99 Test Pipe on a 95-96?

On another note, Can I use a 97-99 B-pipe? Reason being is my rear bumper is 97-99 based.

Thanks.

I don't know what's different about the 95-96's, but if you were changing everything out for aftermarket parts anyways, I don't see why it wouldn't work

Also, something else that makes me wonder:

We at CustomMaxima.com at first were skeptical at what kind of horsepower gain this pipe would produce, so we took a 1995 Maxima to a dyno shop and put it to put it to the test.
And yet on their website they claim it's 97+ only?

I have both 96 and 98 Maxes in the drive way. Looking under there it looks like the cats are the same size. The 96 cat has an O2 sensor, the 98 doesn't. The 98 has that stupid "s" pipe with the O2 sensor, this also compleats the (shorter) b pipe. Now I'm not 100% sure on this but I think you could use either test pipe, but the 95-96 needs an O2 sensor bung. I also dont know if the flanges are at different angles.

Thanks guys,

Do you think there would be any effects If I drilled a new hole for the o2 into the test pipe?

Go to an exhaust shop and they'll weld in an O2 bung in there.
