ACT Clutch Life Sucks

ACT Clutch Life Sucks
Hey everyone,
I bought a new Stage II ACT clutch last year in January and it just went out today. I am a little distraut because I have less than 10k miles on it and its totally dead. Is it worth to talk to them at ACT or should I suck it up and get another clutch, through another vender though? Anyways, how common is it to have them go out so fast. I drive my car fairly hard but not enough for a clutch to go out in under 10k miles. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

On CustomMaxima.com they sell stages of clutches. I purchased the Stage II which is the street/strip clutch. It engaged extremely fast and I loved it....Now its dead. I remember reading something that they should at least last till 20k miles. Just trying to see if it was a fluke or if I should continue to expect to replace a clutch every year.

I kinda wanna know what your running that you need a stage 2. Seems overkill if your running N/A. You'd be better off with a stage 1...

Yeah, the reasoning behind getting the stage II was I was going to be boosted within 3 months of getting the clutch installed and than I got into some trouble and had more bills than I originally had so I needed to wait some time before I am boosted. So I was stuck with that clutch but I loved it! If I were to get the stage I , could I get at least 25k miles on it with normal driving an occasional racing?!

I would think so...Ive been running an Exedy Stage 1 (the same as ACT stage 1, with the exception of 3% less grab) since last september. Ive put about 10K miles on it and its perfect, drives like the day i installed it. Ive ran numerous bottles of juice as well, with NO hint of slippage...ever...

I have the NM1-HDMM ACT clutch package which is supposed to have a 39% increase in pressure, and supposedly capable of 362 ft lbs of torque.
I have have over 40,000 km on my clutch, and my engagement point is still right in the sweet part of the clutch pedal swing.
I'd chalk up your short clutch life on improper break in, or poor manual driving.

ACT doesn't use stages, but I have the NM1-HDMM street setup, and have been running it for around 30,000 miles - including 50+ track launches, many launches on slicks, etc. Also, it holds the power pretty well. I would not suggest it to anyone who does not need it though.
