Well, A$$, this has been posted so many times in the last couple weeks that I thought that maybe you wouldn't be such a damn lazy a-hole and go back a few pages and look. Don't bother asking if you don't want to get flamed. Put on as many coats as you need. Put on clear coat but only if you don't want the paint to peel and chip. Does that help?

Children behave.....
There is the paint method or there is the vinyl method. I am not sure which is better. I plan on doing this soon as well.

I did it. Read the other threads where I told people what to do and what not to do. Trying to help them and warn them not to make the mistakes I did. I'm not trying to sound tough. You're the 17 year old who wants to start fighting over the internet. Hope you don't get suspended for the profanity.

i think Big D has posted on this subject like 8 or 9 times within the past month, i think a few days ago as well, something about the paint turning green or something and yeah its a few pages back.

The turning green thing was because I used TESTORS tint to darken ALL my lights. Within a few days the tint turned green/blue and I had to clear all the lights. There are others that also said this on the org.

Ive done all-reds on my 99. Was pretty simple and straight forward
1) Remove lights
2) Clean them with a good cleaner (i used orange blast)
3) Spray away, i used about 5-6 coats, enough to make sure the lens was covered and red, not pink
4) It dries very quickly, but just give it about 40mins to fully cure
5) Re-install and enjoy the results..
btw, i used no clear-coat. They already have a nice shine, and i will wet sand mine shortly to really shine them up..
Heres a pic, dontmind the awful quality (digi messed up) or my bent duals, a lil accident...getting that fixed soon...

Have a question! After I put paint on tails, is it safe to put tails in oven to open them up, will paint be danaged?? (the project I do requires the paint to be already on tails before opening them up)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Check out my website, I did it. You need to put around 3-4 coats for red on it, and then clear coat it. I don't remember the paint codes but they are all over the place. Make sure you take out the taillights because you will end up with paint on your car, I wouldn't risk it. I might do a little write up, but it depends if I can paint over the clear coat? Can anybody answer this? One of my lights is little bit lighter then otherone.

I sprayed all of the outside and half of the inner tails... looked great the day I did it, but its starting to fade. (testors)
On a good note I know how to remove the paint, Oops! remover takes it off and doesnt harm the lens.

yeah but if you get one open spot you even far away you are fu{ked. I'm just rather take them off to be safe then sorry. So can you paint over clear coat?
And yes guys if you don't want them to fade clear coat is a must. Mine where on for a while at least month and a half, no fading at all.

directions to either paint or use vinyl is in the FAQs. find it!
If you can get your hands on translucent vinyl, then you are set. I have yet to see paint that looks just as good as vinyl.
obvserve! (as clear as i could get it... with the sun shining directly on it!)
the same plastic glossy texture is preserved:
i left some tape wrapped around so I can easily just grab one end and peal off w/ heatgun/blowdryer and some goo-gone.
if you use a heatgun, you can get all the bubbles out:
