Interior swap.

If I do an interior swap from tan cloth to charcoal cloth, instead of buying everything, would it be easier to paint the carpets and interior plastic pieces? I was at C.A.P. earlier today and I saw a can of carpet paint...any good? And I know you can spray the plastic...is it better to just buy the stuff,or will the paint work fine?? Thanks.

Just doesn't SEEM like a real high-quality thing to do to carpet. I could be wrong, I'd never even heard of it before you mentioned it, but it sounds cheap. But hey, if it works good, atleast you don't have to buy all-new carpeting...

paint???

Hey i painted my dash with Duplicolor black paint i have a tan interior and am working on converting to black. For the door inserts because those are high rub areas i went to the junk yard and got all the black plastic pieces including door sills, kick plates seat belt center plastic for $54 with tax. But for the dash they wanted 145 so i decided i would paint it and if it turned out like **** i would go buy it. I did 8 coats on the dash with as i said the Duplicolor flat black paint. The dash looks great and its not coming off, remeber if your going to do this buy lots of masking tape and take your time!!! Patience is a VIRTUE. My girlfriend helped me out greatly on this, she masked the windshield and everythinf off for me and it took like 2 hours plus another 4 to paint. I am very pleased, Just do light coats and it will be good. I also painted my center console silver and for this I decided to go with Duplicolor High Performance Wheel Coating, its ment for high rubing areas and doesnt chip, THIS PAINT IS AWESOME, looks great and its thick, ill try to post pics soon. I also thought about painting carpet so i decided like the dash i would try it and if not its off to buy black carpet. Before i painted everything i decided to paint a little piece in the back, DO NOT PAINT CARPET, it looks like crap!!! and this is coming from someone who is all for painting interior of cars. If you paint the carpet its like this... PAINT+CARPET=****TY LOOKING
I hope this is helpful- if i could figure out how to post pics i would.
