Auto Auction

Lookin at some 4th gens and I found one that I want. the Carfax shows that it was sold at auction. Should I be concerned that it was repo'ed or anything to that extent.(nothing about that in the carfax). its a 99SE Limited if anyone is interested.

Oh yeah hit me up for a carfax if you need one.

good to hear. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. Anything in particular to look for. I fairly mechanically inclined so I know the basics.

An extensive search revealed that the last title holder traded the car in and then it went to auction......

When some dealers take trade-ins and the cars don't sell for a certain amount of time, they move the car to a different dealership they own and they eventually go to an auction if they still don't sell

You should be fine, just expect to pay for some repairs and do a full tuneup when/if you buy it Check for body damage and check to see if the body parts line up perfectly.

Dealers are also available who sell used vehicles, but those are more expensive as compared to the ones that are available in auctions of impounded cars. The best strategy would be to do the analysis online using an auto-finder service, and then determining the auction that would give you the most effective discount deals.

^ so what.

These forums are starting to dumbfound me. If someone searches and bumps an old thread, the person gets flamed. If someone posts a new thread, they get flamed.

Just saying.

Actually, i wasn't making fun or flaming.
It's just a little amusing to see a dead, ancient thread get reanimated with new posts.

so, what? why do you think the mods keep soo many of these old threads? its cause some ( not all ) of these old threads bring up good points and old ideas that have been long forgotten. i've spent many a night reading old threads that i never saw, soo many cool ideas in some of the older threads where as the new ones are getting very repetitive. i blame noobs
