i heated it up but while u hit it up a little press it against a able so it doesn't curle or get bubles also don't heat for too long and in one place if u use a heat gun it should be heated not more than like 5 seconds about a half a foot away?? then cut a little then heat up again and so on until u finish take ur time and don't rush ohh yeah and to cut i used regular metal siesors.... have fun

dremmel tool works the best then just sand down the edges to make them smooth and rounded. I have done many of these and this works the best.

you can heat up the blade of the knife or whatever you are using, so it will almost melt through the plastic. hardware stores sell the special plastic cutting tool, you can use that and heat up the blade

use a dremel with a cutoff wheel. watch out for flying debris though.

a dremel would be the best, but I did not have one when I did my tails. I used a box cutter and scored it several times till I could snap it apart. Then used a metal file to clean the edges up and form it to fit just right.

Man, I wish I came across this thread yesterday. I basically destoyed my lights while trying to open them up: Cracked two inners and melted the left quarter. Only the last one I did, right quarter came out perfect.

Practice makes perfect: if you heat them up in oven (300 deg.) put them for no more than 4.5 min in, take out, work for a minute and put back again for like 30 seconds if you did not open in first run.

Anybody selling 95-96 stock tails BTW???

Found out the hard way, I ended up with some hot plastic debris melting into my eyeball. Wear some eye protection
