Q: after installing knock sensor

If I install it today, how long until I start to feel the difference? I've heard people say instantly, and some have said you have to drive it a couple hundred miles before the ECU adjusts. Which is true? Also, if the ECU has to adjust then is there a way to just manually reset it or force it to adjust instantly? thanks!

yeah make sure to clear the CEL if you do have the 0304 code and then reset the ecu. start your car and give it plenty of gas so the ecu can start adjusting itself. you should feel the full power of your car after 2 days and roughtly 30 miles

RESETTING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT

To reset the engine light is a simple procedure.

1. Turn the selector screw clockwise to its stop.
2. Wait 2 seconds.
3. Return back by turning the screw counterclockwise to its stop.
4. IMMEDIATELY REPEAT steps 1 to 3.

From what I've read, that actually resets the ECU. You would need a special instrument to clear the CEL without resetting the ECU...
