I slid into a GMC Truck today after he slammed on brakes in front of me. His tow bar took of my grill, bent my hood, broke my drivers side headlamp, bent my radiator and chipped my bumper. Still drivable but needless to say, this is going to cost me major. He has a single scratch on his exhaust pipe. I'm still waiting to see if his insurance will pay for the damage. But I want to know about how much anyone else has seen for the bill to replace the front end of a maxima. If he pays, maybe I will get the Stillen body kit. If I pay, I just want to be prepared for how much it will be.

I'm sorry about the accident. Sucks. I have some bad news though. In almost every case, if you hit someone from behind, fault is goning to be placed on the person in back. In theory, you are always supposed to maintain a safe braking distance from the car ahead of you. I know most people don't do this but it doesn't change the way the RCW code is written. The truck would have to be doing some really wacky for him to be found even partially at fault. Evan at partial fault, you would still be responsible for your car's repairs.

That's exactly what I was going to say. The one rear-ending is always at fault... Unfortunately, I learn that from experience as well....

From the sound of it, it's mostly cosmetic damage for your car. If you have it done at a dealership, you are looking at about $1800 - $2400 worth, but they will make sure it's done right. If you go to a less expensive collision center, you may be looking at $1400 - $1800. I have to give you a huge range because I don't know if the mounts on each part are damaged. If a lot of mounts are damaged, to really fix it right, you may be looking at a pretty darn high price tag.

Good luck to you...
