So I finally finishing fixing my car, I had a hole in my water outlet pipe, so I had to replace it, and had to take apart everything int he process. After a few days of working on it, I finish, car runs fine. I drive around for a little bit, out of nowhere, my car starts to act up. I get home, pull the codes, I have 3.
03-04 Knock Sensor
02-01 Ignition Signal Circuit
06-05 Cylinder 4 Misfire
I dont worru about the KS because its new and I always get that code for some reason. I dont knwo why I got cylinder 4 misfire, I changed my spark plugs while I was fixing my water outlet, NGK plats, and put everythign back. I did the manual check on my ignition coil packs, I disconnected the 4th cylinder pack while the car was on, car got worse, as its upposed to do when you disconnect it, meaning that the coil pack is ok. I did it for all coil packs, same result. What could this be? ANy opinions?
Thanks

Possibly, but then I started to think, the ignition signal circuit is a fancy explanation for the ignition coil packs. When the ignition signal circuit (02-01) cel appears, there is usually a certain cylinder which misfires and creates another code, in my case cylinder 4 (06-05), which then makes me believe that there is something wrong with the coil pack for cylinder 4. I am going to make sure of this by switch coil packs in cylinders 2 and 4. If it actually is the coil pack, then the cylinder misfire would move from 4 to 2. Anyone want to back me up or tell me why I'm wrong, I'm open to all info. Thanks!Originally Posted by gabex

Nice post, I read it all, sounds like my same problem. I havent been able to fully check out my car, cause I had school and went to work right after, so I had no time to mess with it. I just changed my plugs, so I'm going to take out that plug and check it and reinstall it. I also was able to move the coil pack from cylinder 4 to cylinder 2, if it IS the coil pack, then I should get a cylinder 2 misfire code from my ECU. I resetted the ECU, and Ive been drivign since with no CEL, but the car is still acting like crap. I'm going to go check out my ECU lzater to see what my ECU is throwing, hopefully I get cylinder 2 misfire, proving that itsd a faulty coil pack. If its not, then its either the plug or something further. I'm also gonna check the readingsof the pack just to make sure.
Well I came home last night, I had no CEL, but I wanted to check to see if anything would show up after I switched the coil packs. I pulled:
03-04 Knock Sensor
07-07 Rear Heated o2 Sensor
WTF????!!!! Im just confused now, I have no idea why it would be like that. So this morning I go to check all the gaps in the spark plugs, they were all a little below .04, I put them between .04-.05. I then checked each coil pack, they all measured between 1.5-1.6 ohms, except for one which was like a little over 1.6, and that wasnt even the coil pack in question. So it seems that all the coil packs are fine. I pull codes and all I have is the KS code, but the engine is still running horribly. You can even hear it in the exhaust, sounds like it is coughing, not consistent with the cylinder firing. help =/
