replacing hood struts

i'm trying to take out my hood struts to put in new ones, but i'm having problems. how do i get them out??

There are 2 bolts (one on top and one on bottom) that are connected to the hood and the body. Just unscrew the bolts and take the whole thing out. The bolts will not seperate from the stock hood struts
