Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket air filter for my 95 SE? I was thinking about the K&N filters, but am open to recommendations from fellow max enthusiasts...

Run a search, I am sure you will find exactly what you are looking for...

There is a lot of argument between a CAI (Cold Air Intake) and a SI (Stillen Intake). Bottom line is: BOTH ARE GOOD. I personally like the SI because it's not as loud...

I think what you are asking for is just a drop in filter, not a whole new intake, right? In that case go with the K&N, it's supposed to have the best flow of any filter out there, plus there's the added bonus of never having to buy a new air filter. If the case is you want a new intake, listen to the guys above.

Just an additional note...

If you get the CAI, you'll have to cut a hole near your wheel well so you can place the CAI. Not a big deal, but just an additional something you might have to do when installing.

And if you want to get a new cone air filter, another alternative to the Stillen, is the JWT (Jim Wolf Technologies) cone filter. It will be cheaper, but works just as well.

I sent you an instant message earlier this evening, but I'm not sure if you got it... I'm interested in purchasing the intake. Get back to me at mike25701@aol.com Thanks!

i forgot to mention that i think the filter will only be good for 95/96 max's because i drilled a small mounting at the top of the filter for the air temp sensor. i don't think that the 97+ maxs have those. but if you guys are still interested let me know.

also, i'm getting rid of it because i changed my set up to the poor man cai. it's the same horsepower as the stillen but the stillen has a really aggressive sound to it. seeing that my car is a stock auto max i didn't want my car so loud.
