A new intake adds fwe HP. Though it does give it a different sound. And some people even say that you get better fuel econ with it. Can't really tell you cause I don't have one. But run a search and you'll find it.

I travel a lot and seem to get better gas mileage. The major difference seems that the RPMs are lower at steady speeds. That means the engine is not working as hard to stay at those speeds. Therefore better gas mileage.

I have an intake too, and yes you do get better gas mileage at steady speeds. I can now do about 70mph at 2500rpm in overdrive. It gives a very deep growl when accelerating, sure to put a grin on your face. The only time I get worse mileage is when I keep hitting the gas to make the intake sound off. You will enjoy it though.

Exactly which intake are you guys talking about? Cold air, or the cone one?

An intake, weather it be CAI or popcharger, makes about 3-7hp. There's still some contraversy as to which one provides more hp, however any intake is better than none. IMO, it only makes sense that gas mileage would increase.

How do you get more speed with the same gear ratio???
at O/D my car does 87MPH....approximately over 85 MPH below 90 MPH...with JWT POP and without.
alrighty.
Even when you increase your HP, your max speed at certain gear is still the same...you can however...accelerate faster..given your torque does not go down....
alrighty....fix me if I am wrong
^_^
enjoy the ride

The intake does make a difference in power. It's slightly noticable. The sound that it makes though is very intimidating above 3500 RPM. I would recommend getting an intake over replacing the stock filter with a K&N.

I have the Place Racing CAI hybrid with the JWT filter and velocity stack, so my setup might sound or perform different than other people's intakes
